Abstract:
In this paper, I will compare bilateral trade data from Mexico and China based on their exports to the United States. Using various statistical methods, the competitive effects of Chinese manufacturing on that of Mexico will be estimated across various sectors. Drawing from a strong body of research that demonstrated intense competition between the countries in the U.S. market, I will see how and if this relationship has evolved in the last decade.
