- In September 1944, a film was completed in the Theresienstadt Ghetto, depicting the camp as a safe haven for Jews. The film, orchestrated by the Nazis, was directed under coercion by Kurt Gerron, a prominent Jewish filmmaker in the pre-war era. Under the watchful eye of Commandant Karl Rahm and objections from his wife, Olga, Gerron navigates the constant deportations and killings within Theresienstadt. This screenplay explores Gerron's moral struggle, artistic resistance, and attempts to preserve truth. Based on historical events, this thesis deals with themes of propaganda, survival, love, and artistic expression during the Holocaust.
