Abstract:
Today's world of entertainment often seems plagued by a case of unoriginality. Regurgitating old programming has become the norm, as corporations are more willing to finance ideas that, in the past, have been profitable. Originality takes a backseat. This thesis project contains within it an original feature film screenplay along with a reflection paper that not only describes the creation of the screenplay, but how the creation was done with acknowledgement of literary and cinematic conventions. Through completion of the screenplay, a captivating original story was written that is both fresh and contains adherence to tradition, allowing real viability in the film industry.
