Abstract:
There is a gap in understanding the costs and benefits associated with allergy prevention and control in restaurants. The purpose of my thesis was to investigate the nature of these costs and benefits. We also investigated the awareness amongst restaurant managers of these costs and benefits, the characteristics of these costs and benefits, and what would it take to manage them. This research would be particularly valuable for management decision making regarding prevention and control of allergies in restaurants. Results of this study also focus on training of food allergy prevention and control as well as attempts to make customers aware of what is in their foods.
