This thesis chronicles the Penn State University club Eco-Action’s Earth Day event for the years 2009 and 2010, for which I was the coordinator. Included within this thesis is information regarding the history of Eco-Action’s Earth Day at Penn State and the United State’s celebration of Earth Day since its inception in 1970. This document also explains how I used my university education in theatre to assist me in planning this event. The purpose of this thesis is to serve as a road map for future Earth Day coordinators at Penn State, as it provides specific information regarding fundraising, rules and regulations, ideology, leadership, advertising, history and formatting.
