Abstract:
The exhibition, entitled “Meet Me at the Fair”, was created from my own experiences at fairs held here at home as well as abroad, from a detailed and thorough analysis of the unique histories behind these social engagements, as well as an investigation into the ways in which famous artists from the U.S. and Spain have embraced the idea of the fair as inspiration for their own works. I have created a body of work that includes work of photography, drawing, painting, and collage. Drawing inspiration from the research I conducted, I hope that the final pieces selected for my thesis show, “Meet Me at the Fair”, will showcase my furthered understanding of myself as an artist, and knowledge of the fair. The final show will be held in Borland Gallery from May 16th - 20th, 2011.
