Abstract:
With the quick development of the Chinese housing market, the increasingly high price
of housing in urban China becomes an issue. After the 2008 Financial Crisis in U.S.A., the
Chinese government has applied a series of policies, in order to stimulate the development of economics. The housing industry is one of the areas that benefit from these stimulus policies. However, the overheating in the Chinese housing market finally caused government’s attention in 2010. Starting from 2010, the government has enacted several controlling policies in order to cool down the housing market. This thesis will use the data of the 35 main Chinese cities from different tiers and regions, in order to analyze the housing affordability in urban China from
2002-2012 and give evaluation to the effect of the Chinese housing policies. Meanwhile, in order to find out the influential factors of housing affordability in urban China, econometrics models are used for analysis.
