Abstract:
Fear is something that all humans deal with. Whether that be fear of the unknown, fear of change, or fear of failure; whatever it is, all humans deal with fear. Sometimes this fear keeps individuals away from their dreams of entrepreneurship because they simply do not know where to start. This thesis will detail the various steps which go into starting a business, some of the challenges encountered during that process, and ways in which one can scale and continue to grow in their respective business segment. This thesis will focus on a company named JERPA Jeans LLC (JERPA) which was founded by a Penn State Schreyer Student. Specifically, the findings from this thesis assert the importance of solving a problem, selecting the correct supplier/product, and having a specific marketing/business plan which is tailored for the respective target consumer.
